First Visit
Your initial appointment is a consultation with the specialist to explain your diagnosis, treatment and anaesthetic options.
At your initial consultation, one of our Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons will discuss with you your medical history, provide a personalised assessment and issue you with treatment options and a treatment plan explaining what your surgical procedure will involve. This will enable you to be fully informed prior to making any decisions regarding your proposed surgery.
At the completion of your consultation you will liaise with one of our friendly staff members who will arrange your surgery and review appropriate appointment times. We will also give you an itemised quotation of all associated costs relating to your surgery and discuss the contribution of Medicare and your Private Fund (if applicable) towards this.
Please bring with you to your consultation appointment:
- Your referral from your dentist or GP
- Your most recent X-ray (OPG) or scans
- Medicare and Health Insurance information
- A list of any current medication you are taking
The cost of your initial consultation is required in full on the day and will be partially subsidised by Medicare. Your Health Fund does not contribute to the cost of your consultation. On payment, you will be issued with a receipt to present to Medicare for your refund.
Your consultation and surgical procedure will be completed at separate appointments. However urgent cases will be taken into consideration following the consultation.
Please feel free to fill in your patient information form prior to your appointment and either bring it with you or send it directly to us.
